ANSWER:For any kind of electrical work, an inspection is required. If you are dealing with a General Contractor or an Electrical Contractor, please discuss with them directly about how you would like to handle the inspection. If you would prefer Alliance to handle your electrical inspection, first notify your contractor before applying with us.

QUESTION:  What happens if i lose my certificates?​
ANSWER:Please contact our main office to receive an additional copy of a certificate that has already been issued. It MUST be the original applicant who calls and we will ONLY be able to mail another set of certificates to the original mailing address supplied on the application. Please note that Certificates are only valid and will only be accepted by the town for up to ONE year from the inspection date. Issuing another set of certificates may subject you to a $20 reprinting and mailing fee.
QUESTION:  If everything is approved, what happens next?
ANSWER:After we approve an inspection, three Alliance Certificates are created and mailed directly to the applicant. Two copies are for the applicant's records and one copy is for the town. Usually the certificates are mailed out same day or next day. However, please allow up to 7 business days for arrival.
QUESTION:  How long does it take to hear from an inspector?
ANSWER:In most cases, you will hear from an inspector within 1-2 business days. If you have not heard from an inspector after two business days, please contact our office and a member of Alliance will confirm your information and assist you.
QUESTION:  How long does the inspection usually take?
ANSWER:It is difficult to say how long an inspection will take. To get a better idea, please contact the main office with your specific information or discuss with the inspector when they contact you to make an appointment.
QUESTION:  What happens if something is not up to code?
ANSWER:We will notify you at the time of inspection if we find something unsafe or not up to code. We will outline exactly what needs to be corrected and you will be required to have a licensed electrician make the corrections. After the corrections are made and we are notified by the original applicant, we will schedule a re-inspection of the work that was corrected. The process of a re-inspection is handled the same way as the original inspection. There is a fee associated with re-inspections. For pricing, please contact the main office.
QUESTION:  How do I apply for an electrical inspection?
ANSWER: We offer the option to apply for an electrical inspection in a number of ways. The fastest option is to apply on our website by filling out the appropriate application which is sent directly to our office. If you prefer to fax, you can print out a copy of the appropriate faxable applications and fax it to our office. If you looking to get an electrical inspection by request of the town, you can also call our office and a member of Alliance will work directly with you to apply over the phone.
QUESTION:  What happens after I submit an application?
ANSWER:After you submit an application it is reviewed and processed by our office. We then send your information to the Alliance Inspector that covers your area. When the inspector receives your information, they will contact you directly to schedule a date and time for the inspection.​​
QUESTION:  What is a Survey Inspection?
ANSWER: A Survey Inspection is a type of electrical inspection that is completely visual. For this type of inspection nothing will be taken apart and the walls to not need to be open. The inspector will do a walkthrough of the areas that need inspection and ensure that everything is is visually safe and the electrical work is visually up to  code.
QUESTION:  How much does an electrical inspection cost?
ANSWER: Inspection costs can vary but for the most part we charge a standard fee for Survey Inspections. Please contact our main office to find out our typical pricing for a Survey Inspection.
QUESTION:  What does an electrical inspection entail?
ANSWER: An electrical inspection is necessary to ensure that you are safe and certify that everything is up to both National Electrical Code and/or New York State Applicable Code at the time of construction.
